Great Reads

I just finished a book I got for Christmas, all 973 pages. The Pillars of Earth, by Ken Follett, is historical fiction (my favorite). It journeys through lives in the time of Middle Ages, all centered around the building of a cathedral. I definitely recommend it! Even if you say you have no time to read: make time. Just a few minutes a day.
A couple more of my favorites:
Timeline, by Michael Crichton. Disclaimer: there are some offensive words. Modern-day scientists and archaeologists time travel to the Middle Ages. For everyone in my family (with all our different tastes), it is in the top 5.
The Red Tent, by Anita Diamant. This is the fictional story of Dinah, Joseph's raped sister. She's barely mentioned in the Bible, but Diamant takes this opportunity to tell her story, and those of her mothers. Pick it up today!
Hope I didn't sound too Amazon-ish. I'm about to read Wicked. But after that, any suggestions? Thanks!

I finished "The Red Tent" a few months ago and liked it also. We're fans of the John Grisham law books around here. He's from MS, so that makes us love him even more!

Anthing from Jodi Picoult is great. She writes about controversial topics but in a way that keeps you interested and present nearly all sides of the story. Seriously-pick up any of them. No particular order. She is just great to read.

I need to read these books, lately all my book choices have been about toddlers.

I suppose you should start at the beginning. His early works were really good. I'm a bigger fan of the law themed books rather than his sports books or historical ones.

We've been reading Llama, Llama, Red Pajama; Miss Spider's Birthday; Milo, the Mantis Who Wouldn't Pray; and When Sophie Gets Angry -- Really, Really Angry. Pretty quick reads. Ha!

Just thought of 3 more I read on our babymoon to the beach a few months ago. The Emperor of Ocean Park by Stephen Carter (suspenseful), At First Sight by Nicholas Sparks (romantic- but not trashy), and The Five People You Meet in Heaven (thought provoking). These were all good reads. :)
