Happy 100th Birthday, Mamaw!!!

Well, can you believe it?! My great-grandmother turned 100. I've got healthy blood in my veins. This is my dad's side. Apparently, I look like my Dad, he looks like his dad, and he looks like his mom. So is this me in 75 years?! I plan to keep all my teeth though (although I really should get to flossing).

Okay, so it really was cool; she was a lot of fun. I haven't seen her in a while- several years. And that day she was aware of us and knew my grandfather well. We had to reintroduce ourselves. I told her I was a teacher, and she loved that. She was a teacher at the age of 18, having passed all her teaching classes already. She taught 1st-6th in a one-room school house, including some boys that were bigger and older than her. She loves to sing, so we got out the songbook and sang her favorites. She would stare intently at us during the verses and then chime in for the chorus. It was so sweet! I hope I'm still singing at 100. I will always remember "Sing and be Happy," my favorite church song. What song will you be singing at 100?

My Happiest Place on Earth

So, I am very fortunate that my dad has business down in Orlando like every 3 weeks. So each Spring Break, we hitch a ride with him. We lounge at the pool while he works (great dad that he is), and we usually go a couple days to a park. This year, we decided to just hit all 4 Disney parks. Ben wasn't there, though, because he's a freshman at Faulkner, and his Spring Break was the week before ours. =( Here's a few pictures of our fun, though:

One of my favorite parts was the parade at Animal Kingdom.

My dad loves Tigger!!

Well, little did we know, Orlando weather turned FREEZING (at least it felt like it in my shorts and strapless shirt) and rainy. I had had enough when we were leaving from the opposite end of the park at Epcot. I (as cheap as I am) would not spend $6 on a poncho I'd use for 15 minutes. So I asked for some bags! It totally worked and kept me warm and dry. But my mom almost wet her pants from laughing so hard. I didn't look that tacky, did I???!!! =)
Okay, and I had to get a picture of this. If you know me, you know I eat like a bird, every couple of hours. When Rainforest Cafe reminded me they have no lunch portions, I knew I'd be in for a filling treat. This is my plate of nachos AFTER I stuffed myself silly and gave 1/4 of it away to my dad. Can you imagine?!

Well, it was definitely a fun way to spend my Spring Break. It would have been better had Benbo been there. And as Tigger says, "TTFN- Ta-ta for now!"

And Spring Break has started!!!

Well, I started my Spring Break my favorite way- seeing my favorite people!! I got together with my Hall Girls from Lipscomb for our annual Cabin Weekend. I had such a wonderful time laughing with all my girls!

We started out Saturday morning with a baby shower for Maurie Ranz Hanauer. She's having a girl- Riley Jo, due late July.

We always seem to find a place to go hiking, but Laura found a playground first- and insisted she swing! =) Everyone else joined her to play.

I love you girls!!! I can't wait to see you again!
